Work has started in earnest now in the school garden. With the help of Patrick we took out all the usable compost from the compost bins and mixed up all the rest. Patrick is a great worker. Then we cleared 3 beds of daffodils that had died back. Ms Madden’s class helped us do that and little Tara was great.
Spring is very late this year but the two sixth classes have sown their salad crops. They sowed lettuce, salad onions, radishes and parsley. Hopefully they will be ready to eat before they leave us in June. We hope to have a salad party!.
On Friday Mr Stuarts class sowed Nasturtiums and Cornflowers and picked some weeds that are growing in the areas between the beds and on the path. They did a great job.
Evan, Shane, Kamil and Klaidas did a lot of hard work on Friday emptying the compost bin and burying the daffodil bulbs for next year. We’re very lucky to have such good gardeners in the school this year.
