with the Budget coming up and the election sometime soon, the INTO (Teachers’ Union) has asked that we ask you to contact the local TDs to ask them to place a greater priority on primary schools.
And so I am asking you to click on this link (www.standupprimary.ie).
There you can easily and quickly “Email your local TDs now.” The emails are already prepared for you; you can send them as they are, or you can change them as you see fit.
Thank you!
Martin Stuart, current INTO Staff Representative at Scoil Talbot

Extra: The demands can be summed up as follows:
- reduce class sizes to the E.U. average (the INTO researched this and found “Irish class sizes are the highest in the Eurozone”);
- fund primary schools the same as secondary schools (currently secondary schools receive almost exactly twice as much funding per pupil as primary schools)
- build a better management structure for primary schools (because of a ban on promotion many programs around the country can’t be delivered for children with special needs, for literacy, for ICT, and more).
