On Tuesday 29th April four of our pupils made it to the finals of a nationwide primary schools science competition in TU Blachardstown. A huge congratulations to the four pupils from 5th class, and their teacher, Ms. Lonergan! This team proudly represented Talbot Senior National School at the Intel Mini Scientist National Finals event in Dublin attended by 80 primary schools from all over Ireland.
They had to present their science exhibit on gravity and roller coasters to the Intel judges and other exhibitors.
After months of hard work in Talbot and a winning project at the school level, they presented their investigation to the judging panel. The day was full of excitement! They got to see incredible projects from other schools all across Ireland on AI, infection control, evacuation procedure coding and exploring everything from renewable energy to the science of slime. Scientist Phil was on hand to showcase some cool science experiments to all present!
Our Talbot team confidently explained their project, answered tricky questions, and met with other young scientists. It was a fantastic opportunity to see science in action and learn so much. They discovered the importance of clear communication, teamwork, and how much fun experimenting can be. Well done to all on such a great achievement!
