Bawnogue’s Favourite Soccer Team is… ?

What do YOU think? Is it Chelsea? Liverpool? United? Celtic? Arsenal? Someone else? Well, Mr Stuart’s 3rd class were busy recently finding out: they asked a total of 319 people (family and friends)! Now, not all of these people live in Bawnogue but most do. In 7th place was Arsenal–just 12 votes. 6th place: Chelsea (28 votes). 5th place: “No team” (these people don’t like ANY soccer team!). 4th place: Celtic (41 votes). 3rd place: “Another Team” (these people prefer any other team, like Leeds or QPR and so on). Only two teams left: who’s got the top spot? Well, in 2nd place is… Liverpool (69 votes), and Man United are the clear favourites with a massive 88 votes (28% of the vote). What do you think? Would the answers be more or less the same if everyone in Bawnogue was asked? As a Liverpool supporter (best team in the world!) it’s good to see them 2nd from the top instead of 2nd from the bottom!

Mobile Library Visit

Today all pupils in 3rd and 4th classes got to visit the Mobile Library and meet the librarians and the driver. The mobile library visits Bawnogue every Thursday and it has a great selection of books for children. This service is FREE so I hope pupils will use the mobile library and enjoy it! Happy Reading, Mrs Whittle

Busy Collecting Data: How old are the teachers’ cars?

Here’s a few photos of Mr Stuart’s 3rd class last Friday busy collecting data. They were trying to find out just how old are most teachers cars? In class they then used the data this week to prepare a bar chart. What did they find out? Well, there were 57 cars in all at 9:30am between the two schools (teachers, SNAs, visitors, others) and 16 cars were over 10 years old. Twenty-one other cars were over 5 years old, while 20 cars were under 5 years old. We found only 3 cars bought this or last year.
