Yes, it’s soon here again. The third-ever “Talbot’s Got Typists!” competition.
In June 2011 the winner was Kayleigh Perkins with 31 wpm (words per minute [net]).
In June 2012 the winner was Teigan Walsh with 36 wpm. (Joe Okewumi came 2nd with 28 wpm.)
In June 2013 the winner will be… you?
For the first time, I am helping you by letting you know exactly what you will be asked to type in the School Final — the lessons that begin HERE! http://www.typingweb.com/tutor/lesson/index/id/328 (Copy and paste this code into your address bar).
The rules are simple: (1) Practise like mad (using ten-fingers). (2) Command your teacher to choose YOU as one of the top two TEN-Finger typists in your class. (3) Practise like mad (using ten fingers). (4) Do your best in the competition in June (when I invite the top two from each class to the School Final). (5) Win! (6) Celebrate — a prize for yourself, your name forever on this website as the best in the school, and extra computer or PE time for your class.
Good websites to practice on are BBC’s fun Typing Mat and typingweb.com (note: you do NOT have to become a member; just click on the red ‘x’ when it asks you to log in).
