Last spring Ms Cahill’s class sprouted some potatoes in their class and then they planted them in the garden. They were then left to their own devices and today the same class who now have Ms Shaw as their teacher came to the garden and dug them up. There’s was a very good crop and the children enjoyed digging them up. Then they washed and peeled and we made 4 different potato dishes – mashed potato, mashed potato with scallions, cajun wedges and garlic and rosemary wedges. There was a delicious smell as they were cooking and then every bit was eaten and enjoyed! Well done Ms Shaw’s class.
When we came back to school in September the garden looked like a jungle but last week Ms Harrington’s class did a great job weeding and getting some beds ready for planting daffodils and tulips later on.
At assembly today Ms. Donlon announced the new Green Team. Well done to all who interviewed!
