Talbot & Tesco

Talbot SNS were delighted to receive a cheque for €461 for the Tesco Blue Token programme.

Suzanne Mulhall, Community Liaison officer from Tesco Clondalkin, presented some of our pupils and school community with the cheque on Thursday 25th September.

Talbot had a section behind the check-out in Clondalkin Village for 12 weeks from March – June and we shared the community fund with other schools and charitable organisations.

We value & appreciate the support of Tesco and all our many local community supporters and sponsors of Talbot SNS.

“The Purpose of the Blue Tokens:

  •        Support Local Charities:  The blue token system is part of Tesco’s Community Fund, which provides financial support to various local organisations, such as schools, sports groups, and charities.
  •         Empower Customers: It gives customers the power to decide how the store’s community fund is shared, allowing them to contribute to causes they care about.
  •       Fund Vital Projects: Since 2014, this initiative has supported thousands of community projects across Ireland, providing over €9 million in donations.”

St Patricks Athletic Scholarship Scheme

Our partnership club St Patricks Athletic who this year provided professional coaching to all our 4th classes have offered a selection of children from our school Scholarship places at the Redz Summer Camp.

Erasmus+ Adapptive Project

Our school is an active participant in the EU-funded Erasmus+ AdAPPtive project.  The Erasmus+ AdAPPtive project looked at the implementation of digital tools for students who need more support for reading.  This multinational project involved teachers from four countries: Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Czechia (the Czech Republic).  Mr. O’Donnell participated in the AdAPPtive Community of Practice, which met regularly over the last three years.  The teachers shared their insights and tips with each other and it was a very positive experience for both the teachers and the students involved in the project.  Our teachers also participated in two international Community of Practice meetings and it was a great opportunity to meet their colleagues from the other partner countries.  Our learnings from this project will help to enhance our support for teachers and learners in the coming years.  More details about the Adapptive project are available from https://www.adapptive.eu/.
