Mary’s Party
By Afolabi Yusuff

Once upon a time there was a girl called Mary. Mary was going to have a party. She invited a skeleton and Jack and Mr Murphy.

Mr Murphy came before everybody. Mr Murphy helped Mary to set up the biscuits, sweets, crisps, party bags, and cake. At last everybody came. The skeleton brought a dj: his name was Partrick. In the party they played musical chairs, and duck-duck-goose, and hide-and-seek.

It was 5:30 when they went out for a walk. The skeleton saw a big castle; and they all went inside. They ran upstairs and they saw crowns for a King and a Queen. Mary wore the Queen’s crown. The skeleton wore the King one. But the King and the Queen were waking up so they ran downstairs to open the door but it couldn’t open! They chopped off Mary’s hair because she had a long hair. They ran upstairs and threw Mary’s hair out like a ladder. At last the time was 9:30 so they had a sleep over and from that day they never go into another person’s house.

THE END

The New Boy in Moyle Park
By Ajibola Yusuff

On September first when school reopened there was a new boy called AJ Rooney. He went to Moyle Park because in his other school he got bullied.

He was nice to everyone in the class. He was happy that wanted to come the next day. AJ Rooney was really good at football and basketball. He also got a reward for the best in the class. He was only 15 years old in 5th year. He had a teacher called Ms Byrne in Moyle Park.

On Sunday he went for a sleepover in his friend’s house for 2 days. On the day before they went to bed Jack sneaked out of the house to the shop for Redbull. He ran back to his room where AJ was asleep. Jack drank it and went to bed. Next he died.

Jack’s mam did not know about that. When she was called in to say what she knew. The mother was angry at AJ and his family. The next thing, the garda was in touch with them. AJ Rooney’s family did not care about the boy called Jack. The case was put to the court in the next few weeks time. The lawyer was fighting for it and then she got 50,000 euro. The lawyer said we are to share it. She agreed it with him. What a life she said with money.

The End.

Now that you’ve read them, what do you think? I love the first one because it’s fun–AND, like other good writers, the writer cleverly teaches us an important lesson too. And I love the second one because it’s full of mystery, and sorrow, and, like many other good stories, it doesn’t have to be a happy-ever-after ending. Poor AJ! Poor Jack!!

Go on, give it a go. Get a pencil and a piece of paper and off you go… enjoy creating a fantastic story and letting others enjoy it too. Talbot’s Got Writers!!
