Mrs Whittle Retiring
Mrs Whittle retired from our school on Monday last and it was a sad and emotional day for all of us. Monday was the feast of St John Bosco and it was a fitting day for her to retire as she had lived the ideals of Don Bosco all her teaching life in Talbot.
At 11.00 we had Mass in the hall and then afterwards we had a presentation to Mrs Whittle. All the children in the school had contributed to buy a present for her. We bought her two Genesis figures of a boy and girl reading books and a suitcase which she can use, now that she has lots of time to travel.
Chelsea Graham wrote a wonderful speech about Mrs Whittle and said it beautifully. Then Myles and Chloe and Judith presented her with the gifts. After that Jordan and Thomas wheeled in a big cake and Mrs Whittle cut it.
Next up was Alan Byrne who made a lovely speech on his own behalf and on behalf of all the past pupils of Talbot and he presented her with a beautiful painting of the school which he had painted himself. She was thrilled with it.
This was followed by Una Kelly from the Parents Assocation making a presentation to her.
Finally Mrs Whittle made a speech and told the children that she had loved every day in Talbot SNS.
Everyone (including Mrs Whittle ) shed a few tears! We wish her the best of luck in her retirement and hopefully she will come back to visit us lots.

Grandparents Day
This morning we had our special breakfast for Grandparents. We wanted to let them know how much we appreciate them in our school.
It was a great morning – their grandchildren even had breakfast with them. After breakfast, our students brought their grandparents back to their classroom to introduce them to their teacher and to show them their classroom.
Have a look at all the photos we took!
