Have fun with  at home too with mental addition/ subtraction and try these 64 +32, 58-25, 40+25, 90-27, 57+26, 84-36, 75+29, 94-17, 53-27, 49+21.

Intercultural Food Fair and Week

We are nearing the end of our Intercultural Week from February 26th – March 1st. Ms Nasalciuc (5th class teacher) created the event and she taught her own pupils about her own Moldovan heritage!

We celebrated and learned about all the wonderful backgrounds the families of our pupils come from, including our own country Ireland.

Lessons and events in class were taught highlighting the many cultures represented in Talbot during the week.

For the food fair parents and guardians were invited to make and bring in Foods from all Around the World, which our children sampled on the day. It was a huge success with parents making foods from all over the world including Poland, Vietnam, Albania, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ireland, Moldova, Romania, Estonia, Pakistan, Algeria, Scotland, China, Australia, the Channel Islands to name but a few!

We all tasted so many new and interesting foods, and children have a better appreciation for the cultures and backgrounds of their classmates.

On Thursday the children could wear in clothes representing their culture and background.

Thanks to all for taking part and making it such a special day!
