Term 3: Update from Ms Madden

Good afternoon Parents and Guardians and welcome back to Term 3.

I hope you are well and managed to enjoy a pleasant break with your family.  Teaching and learning has re-started for all pupils via our seesaw app and there is a lot of schoolwork posted on the  school website  admin@talbotsns.com. In addition, children can continue to work independently using their schoolbooks and workbooks.

We understand this unexpected school closure can be an anxious time for children and our support teams i.e. Home School Liaison (Ms Ni Dhuill) Care Team (Ms Byrne) SEN team (MS Wynne) are available to support the emotional and academic needs of our pupils.

The school are providing a school lunch bag to any family of pupils who may be in need. Please email talbotlunches@gmail.com    or ring 089 4289903 to avail of this service

We strongly advise that we all continue to adhere to HSE Public Health with regard to hand washing, social distancing and keeping within 2 km of home and staying at home as much as possible. We as a staff are following HSE Public Health advice and awaiting Department of Education and Skills guidelines.

Please do contact the school if you have any queries at talbotsns@hotmail.com or (089 4289903)

Kind regards

Confirmation Update

To 6th class students/parents/guardians,

Hello to all the Confirmation people in 6th class. As you know, we should have had our Ceremony of Light this week and our Confirmation next week. Sadly with the restrictions those events will not happen yet. We have to wait until the Archbishop gives us permission to proceed before we can do anything. When he gives us the green light, we will do our best to organise your Confirmation as best we can. Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to say when or how that will happen. Just be assured that we will update you as soon as things start moving. In the meantime, keep working on your blue Confirmation book and try to have it finished. Do your best with your writing and art work so it will be a wonderful book for you to keep. Take care and stay safe!

Seesaw – Online Learning

Dear Parents/guardians

As you know, schools have taken a huge leap forward with online technology due to the recent school closures. We are using Seesaw – an amazing tool for online learning as a way of giving feedback to the students in our school. Some of you may have received Home Learning Codes for accessing Seesaw.

Because your children are under 13, we must have parental consent. Please give your consent by filling out the form below. If you have a few children in the school, you can use the same form for all kids. Thank You!
