Talbot S.N.S. Virtual Sports Week – June 2020

Hi everyone,

We all hope you and your families are keeping well and safe. June is always a fun time in school with school tours and our much loved Sports Day. In order to keep the fun going and promote physical wellbeing, we will be having a Virtual Sports Week from June 22nd – June 26th.

I will be posting out videos of activities (total of 12) that the children can do at home with their families over the next 3 weeks. This will end with the children choosing a day during Virtual Sports Week to host their very own Virtual Sports Day.

The first videos will go out next Tuesday, June 2nd.

Over the weekend, I’m asking children to get some basic equipment organised. These are all household items, no items need to be bought. Children can log on to SeeSaw to see these.

The virtual element will be their ability to post pictures/videos on to SeeSaw if they feel comfortable sharing with their friends and teachers. There is no pressure to post pictures or videos though!

It would be great for you to encourage your child/children to participate and also for you and your families to participate where possible too.

We can’t wait to see all of you trying out the different activities and having fun with your families.

THANK YOU.

Mr. Carty & Talbot Staff.

Zoom!

Dear parents/guardians,

Thank you so much to all of you who filled out our Talbot survey. From the survey, we understand that the children are missing each other and they miss chatting with their teacher. Over the next few weeks we would love to create a safe space online using Zoom to make this happen. Zoom is an online video conferencing application that allows users to chat and see each other! We would love to use it to check in with the class and see how everyone is! We would need your consent first – please fill out the online consent form if you would be happy for your child to use Zoom: Zoom Consent Form

If your child does not want to do it, or you are uncomfortable that is completely fine. It is optional!

Recreate The Artwork Challenge!

Students of Talbot, your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to recreate a famous artwork from history.

Below you will find 30 famous artworks. Some are of people, some are of objects, all are loved across the world.

You must find what you can around your home to recreate whichever artwork you’d like.

The first few slides in this video show different examples that others have done, so have a look there for guidance. In the slides you’ll see that even Mr. Carroll has given it a go! Don’t forget to press pause!

All versions created by students will be collected in a PowerPoint for the rest of the school to enjoy, and there will be prizes given for the best three in each class level!

Best of luck in your recreating!
