Today we started a pilot project with 6th and 3rd class! Each 3rd class child is matched with a senior Maths Buddy! The 6th class children are given 3 maths word problems to solve. They work out the answers first in their own class room. They use problem solving strategies to work out the answer. They then meet with their junior buddy and help them work out the problems using the strategies!
On Monday begins Catholic Schools Week. We’re going to celebrate it in many ways — like learning more about our friend Don Bosco and about the greatest Irish female saint, St Brigid.
Each morning over the intercom some 6th class children will read some special prayers and thoughts, which you can read here: Prayers and Thoughts for Each Day 2013 CSW. If you are a Christian, they will help us with our Faith. Let’s have a great week!
Grandparents Day will be held on Friday the 1st of February this year. For this competition, we are asking you to tell us what your Grandparents mean to you. Even if they have passed away, they are still special in your hearts.
Click on the “Post a Comment” to enter the competition. If you are chosen as a winner, you will read your entry out during the Grandparents Breakfast.
