Team Theatre visited Talbot Senior School on Thursday 19th January. All four of our 3rd classes took part in drama workshops based on the theme “Environmental Awareness”. All classes really enjoyed the experience.
Today we invited the third class parents in to the computer room to learn all about Mathletics. Every child in the school has a Mathletic License. The parents learned all about how Mathletics works and how their children and themselves can benefit from using it! Our Maths Ambassador, Reece Bolger demonstrated how to play the LIVE games. Taylor Graham demonstrated how to play Data games. Ebony and Dion McDermott demonstrated how to play games on Shape and Space and Fractions. The third class children were then invited down to the room to use Mathletics with their parents. It was a great morning!
Paired Reading is underway with the 3rd and 5th classes. Each child in 3rd class has a reading buddy from 5th class to read with them, Monday to Thursday for 15 minutes a day. Some parents are coming in and they are their child’s reading buddy!
Grandparents day was a huge success again this year. A huge breakfast was cooked, and lots of children brought in their grandparents for a lovely fry-up! We had a short prayer service to celebrate Grandparents Day and St. Brigid’s Day. Five children read out the poems they had entered in the online poetry competition – they were Brittney Maughan, Rheanna Tallon, Christian Heath, Eireann Dunne and Lauren Roberston! Well Done everybody!
